Hello! I’m Karyn, a Vancouver-based Creative Director with over 24 years of experience in the fashion and beauty industry. My career has taken me through many roles — makeup artist, hair stylist, model, wardrobe stylist, and ultimately director — giving me a well-rounded understanding of what creative teams need to feel supported, inspired, and able to do their best work on set.
My work spans editorial photography, commercial campaigns, and runway direction for both independent and international fashion productions. Recent highlights include directing multiple runway presentations for Carolina Botelho Atelier and leading Nathee Rav’s debut show for Vancouver Fashion Week F/W 26.
I’ve had the privilege of learning leadership skills from some of the industry’s most respected creatives, including the late Jon Paul Holt — award-winning director, stylist, and entrepreneur — as well as Michael Shaun Corby, formerly of Living Proof, and Odete DaSilva, key hair stylist for Global Fashion Collective.
In 2008, I founded Curly Hair Vancouver, a salon dedicated to textured hair expertise and inclusive beauty. While I love many aspects of the hair industry, creative hair design for runway, editorial, and fashion campaigns remains my passion.
My training includes Vidal Sassoon’s Classic Cutting Program, Toni & Guy’s Classic and Creative Cutting Programs, Wella Master Certification, and Living Proof Educator Training.
